Delightful Reindeer Cookies for Festive Occasions

Reindeer Cookies made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Decorating icing various colors
  • Candy eyes mini pretzels, and red M&Ms

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix until fully incorporated; then add vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until just combined; fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden; let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  8. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely, then decorate with icing, mini pretzels, and candies.
  9. Store decorated cookies in an airtight container or enjoy them fresh!
