Delicious Chicken Lettuce Wraps for Home Cooks

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup diced mushrooms
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head of butter or romaine lettuce
  • Chopped green onions and cilantro for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Incorporate the diced mushrooms and bell peppers, cooking for another 5 minutes until softened.
  6. Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before assembling.
  8. Wash and separate the lettuce leaves carefully.
  9. Spoon the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves, garnish with green onions and cilantro, and serve.
