Delicious Apple Slab Pie for Every Occasion

Apple Slab Pie made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 to 5 medium apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • 2 pre-made pie crusts
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the apple filling.
  3. Roll out the first pie crust and place it in the baking pan.
  4. Fill the crust with the apple mixture.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling.
  6. Cut several slits in the top crust.
  7. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let the pie cool before slicing.
