Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and lightly brush with olive oil.
Bake the baguette slices for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
While the bread is baking, prepare the candied bacon. In a bowl, toss the bacon slices with brown sugar, maple syrup, and red pepper flakes.
Arrange the bacon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the bacon for 20-25 minutes or until crispy, flipping halfway through.
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with a pinch of salt (and pepper if desired).
Once the bacon is ready, remove it from the oven and place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
Spread a layer of cream cheese on each crostini, then top with pieces of candied bacon.
Garnish with finely chopped chives or green onions before serving.
